Miss Betty is a character from a children's project about mechanical animals and pets who find friends in unusual places.
A 3D children's book project was launched in the 90s, starting with an outcast mechanical pigeon in Seattle's Pioneer Square. At the time, the software was extremely complex, and rendering sometimes took days, even on very powerful computers, so the concept was shelved. Then, thirty years later, came AI tools that could ingest drawings and carefully scripted prompts to create characters and animated sequences with accurate physics and atmospheric surroundings. The project has been dusted off, and if you check back occasionally, you might meet new figures as the story is built.
Note: Moral reservations with developing content using AI are valid. With that in mind, none of these characters or environments are scraped from other artists or websites; in fact, all of the artwork is based on original drawings and photographs, and the prompts from original writing. The mechanical Miss Betty is derived from the real-life Miss Betty, the cover model photographed for The Dog Island Project (see below).

Details
Carl and His Friends
Carl started this project, and he still carries a torch for companionship and the need to fit in with others.
Carl was the original basis for the concept, sketched in the 90s. In this early rendering test, he encounters an aloof group of seagulls in Pioneer Square.
The mechanical version of Otus is cobbled together with spare machine parts, conduit, gears and things that whir and spew steam.

Otus is the chief studio dog for the Dog Island Project, responsible for greeting guests and acting as a stand-in for lighting tests.
