The 90s were fun at MI Blue Studios; we built 3-D worlds and concepts to grab eyeballs and tell stories. Some of the work is quite dated and rough, but it was state-of-the-art at the time.
We built rockets for Boeing, created a radio station with silvery metal disc jockeys for Broadcast Electronics, illustrated magazine covers for KABC in L.A., and produced extensive 3-D work for Microsoft. The tools came naturally since MI Blue started as an industrial design firm, but we found ourselves having far more fun bending metaphor and concept into compelling visuals, especially since the tools allowed studio lighting and matched camera lenses to get the effects we wanted.
