People who do good for others are our favorite kind, and we've been lucky to help them get their message out to raise funds and volunteers. One of the more high-profile projects was the inaugural benefit for the National MS Society black-tie gala, called Dinner of Champions.

Our approach was simple: create a digitally printed book featuring stories of researchers, philanthropists, and beneficiaries of leading-edge MS therapies here in the Northwest. The books placed at each seat used variable data to include a personal letter in the front matter for every attendee, and the tactic was successful. The initial fundraising goal for the night was exceeded by nearly 150%. An added benefit was the ability to reuse these stories, interviews, and photographs in mailers and one-on-one development efforts after the event.

Visualizing Big Ideas

Deep appreciation for anyone making the world smarter, safer and more equitable. These projects we've created specialized content for some of the non-profits we believe in. Photo for Altera's website.
Social Equity Through Education

Altera's after-school education programs have expanded from serving just a few communities in Central Washington to covering the entire state and beyond. The grant application was one of hundreds submitted for McKenzie Scott's Yield Giving program in 2024, each with a 90-second video explaining their program and how they plan to use the award; Altera was awarded a $2M grant. Created in partnership with Cain Creative.

Promoting Women's Health Through Literacy

Altera offers extra-curricular education programs for rural, native, and immigrant students focused on college preparation. Building on this success, they have expanded into new programs for women's health and young children's wellness, incorporating AI tools, games, and reading to boost literacy and health. This video was created for a specific grant using Altera's materials and families, in collaboration with our partners at Cain Creative.

We developed an initiative for MAViA that ended with a luncheon fundraiser, all focused on the voices of young people advocating for common-sense gun laws. Our strategy was to photograph them with their messages in a non-hostile setting.
